Residents may be eligible for funding by the local authority if their capital (savings and value of their home*) is less than £13,500. *The value of the home would only be included in the value of a resident’s assets, if they live alone. The local authority may pay for a portion of a resident’s funding if their capital is between £13,500 and £22,250. For every £250 a resident has over the lower amount, the local authority will subtract £1 per week from the money they contribute. If a resident’s capital exceeds £22,250 then they must pay the full cost of accommodation and personal care. For further information on Government funding,

First class personal care is provided by dedicated and caring staff 24 hours a day under the guidance of our professional and efficient management team. Our key worker system ensures that individual needs, such as assisted bathing, are always met. Prior to admission, a full assessment is conducted by the manager, either at the resident’s own home or in hospital. Thereafter, medication reviews and weight checks are routinely carried out and care plans regularly reviewed, in conjunction with the relevant Social Services and medical practitioners, to identify and meet the changing needs of each resident. Should family members be unavailable, Hedges House staff will escort residents for GP and hospital visits.
Payable at the beginning of the month by direct debit, fees vary depending on the size of rooms and care required, and are reviewed annually.
