Our Care

Our aim at Hedges House is not only to meet but exceed the section 20 regulations of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.

First class personal care is provided by dedicated and caring staff 24 hours a day under the guidance of our professional and efficient management team. Our key worker system ensures that individual needs, such as assisted bathing, are always met.

Prior to admission, a full assessment is conducted by the manager, either at the resident’s own home or in hospital. Thereafter, medication reviews and weight checks are routinely carried out and care plans regularly reviewed, in conjunction with the relevant Social Services and medical practitioners, to identify and meet the changing needs of each resident. Should family members be unavailable, Hedges House staff will escort residents for GP and hospital visits.

I cannot praise highly enough the management and staff of Hedges House. My mother has been living there happily for 8 years and the care she receives is excellent. Many of the staff have worked there for many years and they are all very welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The home is spotlessly clean with beautiful decor. It is a great comfort to my sister & I to know that our mother is being looked after so well in such a beautiful environment.

Family Support

The prospect of going into care is extremely daunting for  elderly people and is a sensitive time for their families.
Hedges House management and staff are committed to offering friendship and support to all concerned whether they have made their decision to take this important step, or are simply considering their options.  Help is always at hand and prospective residents are invited to make an appointment to visit, without obligation, to assess all aspects of care whether in general or specifically to  Hedges House.

When my wife needed to go into care aged 85 with developing dementia. I had looked at some six other care homes in the area. This one appealed to me the most, because of it’s cosiness, high standard of furnishing, cleanliness and reception. I was not disappointed. The staff are like a family, the food plentiful and varied . The medical attention as required, public and personal television/music provided with comprehensive reading matter and entertainment probably appropriate for the residents. My wife was given all the attention she needed, up to her final days and even though I was only a visitor I am still received as if Hedges is my second home, as it certainly became for my wife during two and a half years.
